Minea & Geneva | Apex Equestrian | Horse & Rider Portraits by Calgary Equestrian Photographer

I photographed Minea’s sister earlier in the summer, you might remember her from the blog post with Mya & Vertigo. In that blog, I stated that while Mya’s session was the windiest of the year, her sister’s was a close second. The wind made for an eventful evening, even resulting in Geneva going flying like a loose kite at one point. While I can do without loose horses at my sessions, the wind did make for some pretty epic shots with Minea’s hair and dress.

No two sessions are the same, and I love having sessions like this in my portfolio, a showcase that not every session has to be the classic sunny and glowing golden hour. While that might be what everyone wishes for, this moody fall evening was equally beautiful and paired with the wind and Minea’s striking black outfits - it made for the most perfect evening.

And of course I can’t forget to mention Minea’s adorable dog, who joined us for the session, because you should absolutely get to include everything you love in your session.
