How to colour coordinate with your horse!

When you are thinking of booking a photo session with your horse, one of the first things you are going to wonder about is what to wear. This is a hard enough question on a daily basis, let alone when you have to consider colour matching with your horse! Finding an outfit that coordinates with a giant orange equine is not always the easiest. That’s why I created the “What to Wear” Blog series, and you can check out all of those blogs right here!

Coordinating with your horse doesn’t need to feel impossible! Follow a few simple rules and you’ll have a beautiful outfit in no time, or maybe even two or three!

• With a darker horse, wear a lighter colour, where as, with a white horse, it is best to choose a darker colour.
• When you have several horses in your session, it is best to stick with a very neutral colour, either white, black or cream tones.
• Have fun with it, rules are meant to be broken!
• It is helpful to start planning an outfit by looking for inspiration, look at what other people are wearing, find what you like and don’t like. A good place to start would be the
BLOG.

These colour wheels are some great examples of how to colour coordinate with all the different shades of equines out there!

Most importantly though, wear something that you feel comfortable in!
Your photo session is not the show ring and what matters most is how you feel, and how you’re going to feel when you look at these photos in 10 years!
