What to wear with a black horse?

what to wear with a black horse?

I hardly feel the need to write a blog post for our beloved black beauties, as really all I have to say is “Have fun with it”! If you have a true black horse, they are going to look good with any colour, tone and shade. You can even pair black against black for a dark and dramatic look! If your black horse has seen a little too much sun and is looking a little more bay these days, then I would consider referring to the bay blog post for some guidance.

  • Dark shades look great and create vibrant contrast. Jewel tones make for a dramatic and elegant look.

  • Wear white and black for a timeless and classic monochrome look.

  • Go with a vibrant pop of colour for a fun and playful look.

  • Dress for the season and chose your colours to compliment the environment. Black horses tend to absorb the colours around them, so be mindful of this (your black horse may appear warm toned when lit up by a beautiful sunset).

A monochrome look pairs wonderfully with a more greyed out, nearly white horse! Some variation of a white/black outfit pairs beautifully against a crisp white coat.

Go bold, add in a pop of colour with a darker, jewel toned outfit! This works really well if you are wearing a dress.

Dark colours and even black works surprisingly well with a black horse! And as you can see in the two above images, even a true black horse will reflect the light of the sunset and appear lighter toned! Your outfit will then bring out the tones in their coat, such as the maroon shirt highlighting the same tones in his coat.
