Horse Show // Cochrane July Dressage Show

While I do hope to stay more on top of the horse show blogs, looking back on these images and thinking back on the day allows me to feel transported to this hot summer day in July at the Cochrane Ag Society. I am easily reminded of the sun beaming down on my face, the layers of sunscreen I had to apply, the dust that hung in the air above the arena and the sense of sheer joy that I felt from getting to enjoy this horse show day.

This was a smaller show, with only 17 riders on the day that I attended and there was a real feeling of support and community. Everyone was smiling and laughing, and it was a first outing for many younger horses, just dipping their hooves into the sand ring. With the stunning Rocky Mountains in the background, it honestly could not have been a more perfect venue for a show and I certainly hope I get to photograph here again!

I know I am not the only one looking longingly out their window, waiting for the snow to melt and the trees to be green. I hope these images can remind you of summer and get you excited for the upcoming show season!
