Jackie & Pippin | Edmonton, Alberta | Autumn Canine Portraits by Alberta Canine Photographer

Jackie and Pippin were an adorable duo in front of my camera and added a unique breed to my list of dogs captured, a Chinese Crested! Jackie and Pippin were both rescued by their wonderful family and the pride and joy of Gaby and Dorothy. Jackie came from a high-kill shelter in Texas and Pippin was a breeder surrender in Alberta.

Thinking about booking your own canine portrait session? Here are my top 3 questions about canine sessions!

My dog doesn't know how to sit/stay/do tricks etc.!

No training? No problem! After years of working with dogs, and over a decade of photographing horses, I am very capable of getting the perfect shot in any conditions. I promise that no matter your dogs training ability, we can capture beautiful images!

My dog can't be off-leash!

Not to worry! 99% of my sessions occur on leash, the leash just gets removed in photoshop. Ideally your dog should be on a collar, not a harness, as this is easier to remove in photoshop.

Where will my session take place?

I will work with you to pick a perfect spot for your session. Generally this is one of 3 options,

  1. Your backyard

  2. A park close to your house (not an off leash park)

  3. A rented private dog park (sniff spot etc.)
