Horse & Rider Session // Kris, Harley & Frankie

I love sessions with multiple horses! It is so neat to get to see the different connections that someone has with their different horses and how different their partnerships are. This was especially true with Kris and her two horses. Harley is her strong and dependable gelding, who has been her partner for 6 years and it is obvious they have built and incredible trust and bond with one another. Frankie on the other hand has only been with Kris for a couple of months and is a bit of a wild child. She has more than enough personality for her small pony stature but it was clear that she and Kris were learning from one another and beginning to form a partnership and connection.

I was honoured to capture Kris’s relationships with her two horses, her long term and consistent gelding and her new and exciting mare. It was clear that each of these horses brought out a different part of her personality and character as an equestrian and this was such a joy to capture.

Harley was a dressage horse before I had him and once I started riding him I decided to start teaching him to jump. We are now currently competing at 3’3” and schooling 3’6”. I don’t know how many years I have left with him being a performance horse but we are still making sure we stay healthy and safe! He has a heart of gold and will try his hardest to accomplish anything you ask.

I just got Frankie at the end of May 2020. She is a little spitfire with a wild personality and is starting to understand the idea of life! My goals and dream with her is to eventually have her ground manners solid enough for a small child and have a small kid ride her but still be a firecracker to jump. She is very curious and loves being around people. We are still figuring each other out but so far so good!
