2023 in review

Better late than never right? Almost a month into the new year but I couldn’t miss the chance to summarise this incredible year with you and share so many beautiful images!

I know I say this every year but it really was a year for the books. There were plenty of new and exciting opportunities, including two equine maternity sessions and adding dog photography to my list of skills! I got to work with so many new people and groups, including the Canadian Warmblood Association (Alberta chapter). I accomplished one of my goals which was to photograph a session or event every single month of the year! This year also included some big upgrades, including a new computer and camera, which is sure to make 2024 amazing!

As always, my trip to Thunderbird Show park was a highlight of the year. Getting to spend long summer days at the most incredible show venue and explore the Vancouver area in the evenings is pretty amazing. The Extreme Stables Show in August is another highlight, and this year I even participated in their fun games by riding in the five dollar bill bareback class!

This year was also my golden birthday, as I turned 24 on August 24 and I was thankful to celebrate with many friends and family, and surrounded by horses as I worked the day after my birthday! Diesel turned 21 in April but you would hardly ever know it and this marked my 9th year in business and 2nd year of living in Calgary.

Looking back on 2023 builds so much excitement for what is to come in 2024. While it was an incredible year, not much changed between 2022 and 2023. But going into this new year I am ready and excited for some big changes and big growth for my business! But more on that in another blog 👀… until then, enjoy some of the beautiful memories I was lucky enough to witness and capture this year!
