Christmas Mini Session πŸŽ„ Paige, Simon & Finnick

It was a cold day and quiet day in November when I met Paige at Amethyst Equine Connection. We were the only ones brave enough to face the cold at the barn that day, and Paige did so in red Tom’s, certainly not typical winter footwear. I remember the overcast clouds from the day, our clouds of breath hanging in the air and our rosey cheeks and frozen fingers. The fuzzy horses and Christmas decor truly made this a winter wonderland.

I met Paige over a decade ago at Colchester Stables, and I remember her being warm, friendly and kind from the moment I met her. All these things are still equally true today and it is such a pleasure to get to continue to capture beautiful memories for her year after year. This was our second session together, and we since have had another one this summer and have another Christmas Mini on the books for this year. Her chestnut gelding, Simon, has been a constant in her life since meeting her over a decade ago and reminds me much of my own gelding Diesel. To see a horse loved and cared for as they enter their golden years is so special, and no horse is as loved as Simon is by Paige. Finnick is a newer addition to the family, but has obviously made himself a home in Paige’s heart and is obviously fits like a perfect puzzle piece with these two.

I truly loved capturing this little trio, despite the fact that we all froze our fingers off a little! Christmas Mini’s are cold but the warmth and joy that exudes from these winter photos is so special! I have no doubt that anyone who has booked a Christmas Mini would agree that withstanding the cold is without a doubt worth having these precious memories to treasure forever ❀️
