Horse and Rider Session // Emilee Chartrand & Dream

It is so nice to have sessions to blog again and especially wonderful to get to post the blog for Emilee and Dream! Ever since Dream popped up on my Instagram feed I have been obsessed with his little pink nose and his beautiful dapples! I was so excited to welcome him and Emilee onto my team as ambassadors and even more excited to photograph them for a Horse and Rider session!

I arrived at Riverfront Equestrian and was greeted with the beautiful white fences and the big red barn. In general, I consider Edmonton to be lacking for beautiful barns but Riverfront certainly did not disappoint and was the most picturesque location. Dream was looking just as picture-perfect and was sparkling clean, which is a feat with such a white horse, I imagine Emilee must have been grooming all afternoon! We got started quickly, capturing the beautiful soft sunlight before it dipped behind the clouds. It was a stunning evening and would have been absolutely perfect, if not for the mosquitoes! Both Dream and Emilee were excellent about putting up with the bugs, Dream especially who was getting eaten alive. I think it was all worth it though for the beautiful images we captured!

Dream and Emilee are a relatively new partnership but you wouldn’t know it from spending time with them. They were a beautifully cohesive team and shared a common softness and composure in their personalities. It was clear that they were building a strong foundation as a team and a connection that was obvious! Both Emilee and Dream were so easy going and cheerful to work with, Dream honestly couldn’t have been more of a Dreamy horse to work with and Emilee was so fun to get to know and up for all my wacky posing ideas! I think we may have won Dream over too by letting him break his diet for the evening and giving him a few cookies and some grass to munch on! I honestly couldn’t find a fault with this pair and have so many good things to say about both of them! I hope to see them again soon, and maybe in the show ring! If their relationship on the ground is any indication of how they will perform in the ring, I’m sure they will be a team to watch!
